Neo-T2 Privacy Policy

Effective 25 October 2026

Neo-T2 is a keyboard for Android, made by Tangential Systems Limited ("we"). This policy explains what it keeps, where, and how to remove it. In short: everything stays on your phone. Neo-T2 has no internet access, collects nothing and sends nothing to us or anyone else.

What Android warns you about

When you turn on any keyboard other than the one your phone came with, Android warns that it "may be able to collect all the text you type, including personal data like passwords and credit card numbers". Android shows that warning for every keyboard. Neo-T2 can't send anything anywhere: it doesn't have Android's internet permission, so the system won't let it connect to any network.

What Neo-T2 keeps on your phone

To get better at guessing what you mean, Neo-T2 remembers:

  • Your word choices: which word you picked for a set of keys (for example, that you meant "ham" rather than "jam").
  • Words you add: names and other words you add by tapping them in the suggestions.
  • Email addresses you type, so it can offer them again. They're offered, never filled in automatically.
  • Short phrase counts, per app: how often you type a word or emoji after the one to three words before it, in each app (identified by its package name, such as com.google.android.apps.messaging). These are counts of short phrases, never whole messages. They fade away over about three months unless used again.
  • Suggestions you cleared, so they aren't offered again.
  • Emoji you've used recently, shown first in the emoji panel.
  • Your settings: US or UK English, and dark or light keys.

What Neo-T2 never keeps

  • Anything typed in password or PIN fields, phone-number, number or date fields.
  • Web addresses.
  • Whole messages or anything you type, other than the counts and words listed above.

Where it's kept

Only in Neo-T2's private storage on your phone, which other apps can't read. It's excluded from Android cloud backups and from transfers to a new phone. Neo-T2 has no internet access, collects no analytics and contains no ads or tracking.

How suggestions are made

Neo-T2 uses a small language model (Google's Gemma) that runs entirely on your phone. Your text is never sent anywhere to be processed. Google Play downloads the model (about 240 MB) when it installs the app. That download is handled by Google Play under Google's privacy policy, as for any app from Play.

Removing it

Everything Neo-T2 has learned is listed in the Neo-T2 app under "What Neo-T2 has learned". You can remove any item, everything for one app, or all of it. Uninstalling Neo-T2 deletes everything it kept.

If you contact us

If you report an issue by email, we receive what you choose to send: your email address, your message, and the app version, Android version and phone model that the report fills in (you can delete these before sending). We use them only to reply and fix the problem, and don't share them.

Children

Neo-T2 isn't directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Neo-T2's behaviour described above won't change without an app update that says so.
